Thus, the workers of the municipal rocodromes of Vitoria-Gasteiz have joined the strike called by the unions LAB, ELA and CCOO in the sports activities sector of Alavesas.
In the past few weeks, ESK showed concern about the situation of municipal rocodromes and warned of the “mismanagement” being carried out by the City Hall of Vitoria-Gasteiz. ESK has pointed out that this means "a reduction in the offer of sport" for the citizens of Vitoria-Gasteiz and "a cut for the workers". Workers have denounced that working hours have been reduced and the workload has increased.
In addition, the union has denounced the “lack of disposition” of the mayor’s team, Gorka Uraran, when preparing a specification. They claim that in order for the competition not to remain empty, the City Hall awards it to a company that cuts workers' rights. “Guarantee that practice and look away,” they complain.
For all these reasons, and for the fight for better working conditions, the trade union section of ESK has decided to join the indefinite strike. Together with the workers of other sports activities and neighbours of the capital of Alavesa, they mobilized on 5 September in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
