Yesterday, Thursday, the Txosnas of Vitoria-Gasteiz announced that August 5 will be organized Enchosnación Day. Although no txosnas will be installed in this year’s festivities, the Casco Viejo and the city center have organized an all-day program with activities such as popular fair, exhibition, txoko infantile, popular food and demonstration.

However, according to Gasteiz Today at a press conference, the mayor, Gorka Uraran, has assured that the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz will not authorize the celebration of popular food, but the rest of the activities. "Some of the program activities cannot be carried out, such as popular food. They know the ban and yet they have asked for permission for popular food," Uraran said.

ALEA has contacted the members of the txosnas commission. Although no public assessment of the ban has been made at the moment, the situation is being studied and the decision on the ban will be made known in the coming days.

In any case, during the presentation of the program on August 5, the Txosnas of Vitoria-Gasteiz stressed that "to attend collectively" the crisis is a priority for them and they want to put "health and care for everyone in the center". Although they have had to abandon the traditional format, they have called for "taking the streets" at this year's festivities.

Organized activities are as follows:

• 10:00: Popular fair in the Plaza de Burullerías and 40-year exhibition of Txosnas de Vitoria-Gasteiz in Etxauri Square.
• From 11:00 hours: Txoko children in Martin Ttipia square; painted from 11:00 and 12:00 storytellers.
• 18:30: Demonstration from the Artium Museum.

Although at this time it was feared (until the commission of txosnas communicated it), at 14:00 hours a popular meal was to be held in the Agroespac of Los Herraneses Street (known as Campos Negros) with tables of six people.
