The pp of Vitoria-Gasteiz had called a press conference on Wednesday at the gates of the alternative library of Zapateneo. Hala Bedi points out that the purpose of the hearing was, in general, to point out a whole collective. There are, however, projects that have been particularly keen to point out: the occupation office that has been set up a few weeks ago.
Racist discourse
Half a hundred people have appeared at a press conference in which Garnica has confined itself to talking and has described the call for the press conference as an “act of provocation.” Disguised as cleaners and carrying a banner with the motto “do not ask for dignity when it smells of flatulence”, they have interrupted the discourse of the pp councilman in the City Hall. Garnica’s statement, in addition to attacking a collective, has been full of racist phrases: the office of occupation drives the “mass occupation” of young people and migrants, and highlights that the posters also use Arabic. In view of the action, it has told the media that: “This is what happens when a collective prides itself and has no limits.”
Those who carried out the action have clearly communicated to Hala Bedi: “We will not tolerate provocative attitudes at the gates of our spaces.”
