The Teatro Vitoria will finally be able to open its doors, after agreement with the City Hall
- The Lazarraga cultural association, which manages the Gasteiz Theatre, and the City Hall of Vitoria-Gasteiz, have signed an agreement that will soon open its doors. It is agreed, inter alia, to pay the Cultural Association the economic debt charged by the City Council for five years.
The debt of EUR 112,817 charged to the Gasteiz Theatre closed for lack of activity will be paid by the Lazarraga Cultural Association within five years, approximately EUR 2,000 per month. In addition, the Convention will make a number of adaptations to “adapt the operational plan to the annual activity”.
What is agreed with the City Hall is unanimously approved by the Lazarraga partners in the General Assembly and the agreement will be signed in the coming days. Partners consider this to be the “best possible deal”.
Programme, gradually
In this way, the Teatro Vitoria will be launched and the programme will be gradually completed, at the beginning, and more complete as of September. The competition of the hospitality service will also be presented, the website will be activated, the calls for creativity will be launched… The president of the cultural association Lukas Etxeberria Lazarraga has been excited. The mayor of the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Maider Etxeberria, also learned: “In Vitoria-Gasteiz we will give a great boost to the development of culture in Euskera.”
Abrupt road
