The French police arrested dozens of people during the G7 summit in Paris. Several of them were prosecuted, and yesterday the last of the cases, which are still unknown, took place in the Baiona Court. A dozen people were brought to justice as alleged perpetrators of a group of gender-based violence, according to the Basque Department of the Interior. Counsel underlined the errors of the procedure, which was suspended by the Hearing. There was also a person from the Alternatiba movement in the case, although the judge cautiously ordered the precautionary suspension of the procedure shortly thereafter. On December 19, other matters related to the festivities of San Fermín will be announced.

For his part, the judge also handed down sentences to sentences that had hitherto been handed over to the courts. The judge has already announced the annulment of most of the facts due to defects in the procedure. In other cases, however, they have been considered innocent for lack of evidence. The Court has condemned a total of ten people: two people will be imprisoned – with a sentence of one month and two months. The remainder shall pay fines of between EUR 100 and EUR 500.

Many of the defendants reported violations of rights during detention and beatings by the police. Lawyers report that business secrecy has been hampered: the door of the meeting room with clients was not closed at the Hendaya Retention Centre, where most of them were held. The lawyers reported that there were also many errors in police documents; for example, at the times when they were detained there were inconsistencies. According to the lawyers, this is "preventive justice" during the EU G7 meeting. “In this court they are judging the claims,” the defense told the judge.
