Aiaraldea presents a manifesto to boost Euskera in football
- The manifesto has been presented by the Basque Culture Council of Aiaraldea, with the accession of renowned athletes of the region, schools, associations of fathers and mothers, Basque cultural entities and sports associations.
In the sports field of the Lamuza de Laudio Park, the manifesto that aims to promote Euskera in football has been presented. Representatives of the school community and the Basque sector have participated, together with athletes. Football coach Iñaki Aretxaga, pelotari Aimar Amondo or handball player Patri Pinedo were present. Seventeen prestigious athletes from the region have joined, fifteen schools, three associations of parents, five entities from the Basque sector and a sports association.
In the manifesto read a critical reading of the situation of the Basque country in the football of the region and the collaboration of the football associations of the region has been requested. They also call for the need to guarantee linguistic rights. They have also asked their parents to promote their children's leisure and sport in Basque.
The presentation mentions the important role played by sport and football in strengthening the Basque country.
