The last trial of a Basque prisoner starts in France
- David Pla and Iratxe Sorzabal will be tried in Paris on 4 and 5 February, as reported by the police. All three were arrested by the French Police in Baigorri (Iparralde) in September 2015.
They have been declared members of ETA. They were going to be tried in the criminal field, but in the end they're going to be tried in the correctional field. Therefore, both Pla and Sorzabal may be up to ten years in jail.
They are accused of possession of weapons and association of wrongdoers. Several months after his arrest, Pla declared that he was a member of the ETA delegation for the solution. During the ETA disarmament process, the two alleged members of the eta were held responsible for the political apparatus, according to legal sources. They are considered to be reading the declaration of cessation of armed activity.
