The latest report by the Gogora Institute of the Basque Government shows that a total of 1,523 elements have been removed in recent years. However, there are still many to be removed, most of which are plates from the Housing Institute.
The report now published is a continuation of what was published in February 2016, which made it possible to know whether or not the symbols identified were maintained in that year. Thus, in Uribe Costa there have been changes in the number of registered users.
In Erandio, 22 plates of the Housing Institute were intervened, of which 9 are left, and in the dock of Axpe the cross of the "Fallen" continues, as well as the names of two streets related to Franco.
The trail "fallen by God and by Spain in Guecho", in Getxo, remains in the Getxo cemetery, as well as 3 of the 13 plaques identified in 2016. On the contrary, the monument to the martyrs and the fallen has been removed.
In Leioa, on the other hand, 18 plaques were found, all of them missing, as well as all those found in Sopela in 2016; portraits that were kept in Plentzia three years ago and the three medals of honor have also been removed.
The Basque Government has pointed out that "the withdrawal of Francoist symbols falls within the competence of municipalities".
