Assisted by François Ruffin: Little Asterix wins the first battle for Caesar-Macron
- Following yesterday’s elections, President Emmanuel Macron dominates the whole of France as the new De Gaulle. All over the place? No, I don't. Caesar’s representative has been crushed by an insolent left-wing journalist in Pikardia, condemned to misery by neoliberalism on the Belgian border.
If the abstention from the first round to the second has increased in almost all of them, in Pikardia the opposite has been achieved by Ruffin who has given a voice to the workers condemned to the Xomai with a warm campaign from door to door by volunteers on his side in the towns and neighborhoods of Abbeville and its surroundings. And he has won the bet that few took seriously: Nicolas Dumont, a long-time MP for the Socialist Party and mayor of Abbeville, has now dominated Macron’s move by a remarkable margin, with 56% of the votes being Ruffin, 44% Dumont. The volunteers that the journalist has mobilized were delighted to know the result:

... but in contrast to most of the radical European left, Ruffin uses a workerist discourse, which has been more decisive in his victory, a more workerist and committed act. It is no coincidence that this Pikardian man, who was thrown into the hands of the Front National by the deprivation of industry and mass unemployment, has recovered many of these workers for the left and has thrown the old dog of the eternal aparatero in front of him from his chair.
Asterix-Ruffin is now at another battle. Not the least of them, to comply with the measures and behaviors he has promised and to remain in an unsubdued position in the corrupting palace of the Paris Parliament. And, in addition, to obtain concrete and supportive responses to the citizens of the street who have placed so much hope in it. What is too much to ask of a single man? I'm sure of that. That's why they're -- we're so happy citizens that Goliath was defeated in the first great battle.
