In a note to the local newspaper Corse Matin, the Corsica National Liberation Front (FLNC) has declared 27 volts against second homes. They are held on the night of Sunday to Monday, a few days after the French State announces that it grants the island “limited autonomy”.
The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office claims that the events have not resulted in serious injuries, but firefighters have had to rescue their 54 and 57 year old couples, Pozzaccion de Coti-Chiavari, after suffering an explosion in their home.
The FLNC brings together two Corsica independence groups that left their arms in 2014 and 2016: the former is descended from the group’s Canal Histórico branch and the latter is made up of people from the Traditional Canal branch. On 21 March, however, they jointly signed a document in which various attacks were undertaken.
