The coldest people in Finland want to host the Summer Olympic Games thanks to the "greenhouse effect"
- Salla, the coldest village in Finland, has been presented for the 2032 Summer Olympic Games. They have asked for this through a video of humor, in which they expect "the greenhouse effect" to increase temperatures in a "remarkable" way.
The coldest peoples of Finland have created the original Save Salla campaign, save the planet, which denounces the greenhouse effect caused by warming. In a three-minute video, using humor and irony, they have denounced the effects of the greenhouse and the changes that climate change will and will provoke.
To carry out this initiative, the town has been assisted by the Omnicom Africa agency. They have created a spot to present some of the tests of the summer Olympic Games in spaces and snow-laden landscapes.
The fake Olympic candidature also has its official logo and the mascot Kesa (summer). The pet is a snow deer that is not accustomed to being at high temperatures. For the campaign they have created numerous elements: video, pets, merchandising (t-shirts, mugs or hats), recommendations to improve the situation and a map representing Salla in 2032. The map shows how much ice would freeze and how winter sports would change over summer sports.
Salla is a town of 3,500 inhabitants. It is located in the Lapland region, northwest of Finland. In this town it is very cold and snow for most of the year, with temperatures from -17 °C to -4 °C in winter.
