Following the beating of another prisoner, Corso Yvan Colonna has been on the verge of dying for three weeks, until he died on the 21st day. Throughout this time there have been strong incidents in Corsica, which have led the minister, Gérald Darmanin, to stay on the island last week trying to stifle the situation. The rapprochement of the Ferrandi and Alessandri prisoners seems to respond to what has been seen and heard there.
The Abertzale movement in Corsica, relatives of prisoners and many of the island ' s elected institutional positions had long been calling for the rapprochement of the three, but the French Government has not stopped rejecting the petition, arguing that the three prisoners had a special status as DPS, that is, a label that applies to prisoners who are specially cared for by the French prison system.
Once this status has been lifted, the prisoners can request their transfer, and so have the two prisoners. Also at the time of his death, the French State released him on health grounds. The three prisoners were sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Prefect Claude Erignac.
