The celebration of the Korrika 22.edizioa was scheduled for 2021, but the leaders of the AEK Korrika announced this Friday at a press conference that the situation we live due to the pandemic will delay it until 2022. Although eager to keep this year's edition, which had to start at the beginning of summer, "it has not been possible." The head of Korrika, Asier Amondo, and the AEK General Coordinator, Alizia Iribarren, have announced the news at the San Telmo Museum in Donostia. The organizers have stressed that they have taken the decision to ensure the safety and health of the corridors and the Euskaldunes.

They have acknowledged that the gap created by the Korrika will be obvious: "Korrika needs people, people, the streets, the roads. And in the present destabilizing situation we cannot guarantee that," Amondo said. Before reaching the Korrika of 2022, it is possible to carry out several activities adapting to the new circumstances, but not in the usual format of the Korrika.

Iribarren, representative of AEK, has called on the Euskaltzales to participate in the second edition of Euskaraldia, assuming the role that everyone wants, as an action in favor of the Basque. "The main objective is the Euskaldunization of the Basque Country," said lehendakari.
