The ESK union denounces the “general concern” of the Euskotren workers and the need for the Euskotren Directorate to take organizational measures to correct the “precarious dynamic” they are suffering. They cite reasons such as the number of workers needed and the lack of foresight of the relevant training, the “bad” management of the workforce or the non-compliance with some of the consensus contained in the Collective Agreement.
In order to improve the situation of workers, they call for short-, medium- and long-term measures, the need for qualified managers from the areas that manage the workforce or the need for more staff at stations.
On 20 July they called for a strike in Euskotren to denounce the problems and to demand the needs. The stops will be from 7:00 to 9:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00. Besides the strike, at 11:00 they focused on the Casco Viejo station in Bilbao.
November 19 is World Bathing Day. Even today, in the twenty-first century, many workers here in the Basque Country do not have the right to use the toilet in their working days. Many transport workers are an example of this.
