On 14 March the advisory council of the Euskadi Civil Protection Plan (LABI), chaired by the lehendakari Urkullu (here is the information provided by the Irekia portal), met. At this meeting the Basque Government has taken the following preventive measures:
- Closure of day centres for the elderly.
- Reduction of visits to residential centres for the elderly: you will only be able to make one visit per day resident. In addition, visitors will have temperatures at the entrance to the center and the entrance to visitors will be limited from 37.0°C.
- Suspension of all of the following activities: Museums, Exhibition Rooms, Hospitality (except domestic service), Sports facilities, Playgrounds, Txokos, Gastronomic societies or Prayer Centers. Limit activity in premises which do not ensure a minimum safety distance of 1.5 metres. Apply this minimum distance of meter and a half to the concentration of any person.
These measures shall be of a duration of 15 days and are expected to be extended. Although they will officially enter into force tomorrow, the Basque Government has recommended that they be implemented from today.
The committee brought together the Minister for Public Governance and Self-Government and government spokesman, Josu Erkoreka, the Minister for Health, Nekane Murga, the Minister for Security, Estefanía Beltrán de Heredia, the Government delegate, Denis Itxaso, the MPs of the three historic territories, Ramiro González, Unai Rementano.
