Based on the experiences of previous editions, the organizers have proposed a transformation, “Euskaraldia that exceeds the Euskaraldia”. The Navarra Theatre School of Pamplona has presented the fourth edition of Euskaraldia, to be held from 15 to 25 May 2025.
Under the motto “We Move Each Other” they have presented the edition of Euskaraldia. They want to focus on "activation, movement and emotions." The organizers of the event want to create a social initiative to activate the use of Euskera and encourage the participation of society. Towns and entities can already register in Euskaraldia, while registration for ahobizi and belarriprest will take place in March.
In a hearing at the Navarra Theatre School, the coordinator of Euskaraldia, Goiatz Urkijo, said that the project is essential to “multiply” the use of Euskera. However, he recalled that Euskaraldia has limits, and that, beyond being an “empty campaign”, it must be a social exercise. Therefore, the organizers have explained that Euskaraldia needs innovations to “awaken in a massive way the illusion of citizenship”. They have faced the challenge with enthusiasm.
The organizers want Euskaraldia to be a project that mobilizes the whole community, far from being a passive initiative. To do this, they have created a new tool, the manual of Basque activists, which will help to create movement and organize activities. This guide proposes new ways to promote the activation of citizenship.
The base of Euskaraldia will be maintained: the participants will choose the role of ahobizi or belarriprest and will perform the adapted exercise for eleven days. Thus, it is intended to turn the use of Euskera into a “social norm”, to encourage the first word to be spoken in Basque and that Euskaldunes always speak in Basque.
The organizers have underlined the “importance of collaboration” being carried out. Representatives of various institutions have participated in the event, in which they stressed that Euskaraldia offers a unique opportunity to increase the presence of Euskera in society, and that it is a fundamental project to open the way to the creation of an extensive community.
Euskaraldia comes back. Apparently, it will be in the spring of next year. They have already presented it and the truth is that it has surprised me; not Euskaraldia himself, but his motto: We'll do it by moving around.

On November 18, the “Euskaraldia” began, an initiative that aims to promote the use of Euskera among Basque speakers and non-Basque speakers for two weeks. Although I believe that this initiative has shortcomings in some contexts and there is no better veneer than “Good... [+]
