"Euskera is a language of hatred, we relate it to the era of terrorism. Things have to change a lot to be considered as cultural elements", said the councillor of the PP of the Egüés Valley, Inma Mujika. A debate is opened in the plenary of the town hall at the expense of allocating a subsidy to the Korrika initiative. ""The Basque language is not an attractive language for many because it has long been perverted, used as a political instrument and only leads me to the times of terrorism. It is the language we identify with hatred," he said in that plenary. "Euskera does not allow integrative functions but for social dispersion," he stressed. That there are "many people" against the Korrika initiative and that they have no "sponsorship" to support the Korrika economically.
Following Mujika's speech, the councillor of Geroa Bai, Joseba Orduña, took the floor: "Awesome. I cannot say otherwise what the PP councillor said," he said angry. Considers that he has overcome the political relationship and turned to the personal sphere: "I find these statements unacceptable as a Basque. I hope it will go back," he told the People’s Party councillor. "For this councilor, for me, our personal relationship ends here," he reports. The Basque for Geroa Bai is a personal and coexistence issue: "What you said attacks us."
