In May 2021, 21 people will be tried for trying to stop the eviction of three residents of Bloc Llavors in Barcelona, including Eñaut Alvares, from San Sebastian. A press conference was held in Donostia-San Sebastián to denounce the trial and express support for the defendants. They are sentenced to a total of 35 years in prison – 20 months each – and to fines and damages of 200,000 euros.

Although they did not manage to stop the eviction, they remember that they managed to delay it for five hours. It is alleged that the eviction was carried out by a member of the far-right company Desoccupa and the Mossos d’Esquadra. A special unit of the Mossos has been involved in the investigation of the events, they say: "The investigation of eviction was undertaken by the Central Unit for the Investigation of Violent Extremism, which is responsible for the investigation and discovery of terrorist groups."

During the press conference, it was confirmed that the problem of housing in Barcelona is not an isolated case and that we also suffer from it in the Basque Country. They denounce the use of “administrative means and economic sanctions” to persecute groups that oppose evictions. According to them, the current system "prioritizes private property and the economic performance of the bourgeoisie" and, consequently, "contradicts the interests and rights" of the working class.

To denounce and disseminate what happened Llavors Absolució! They say that they have joined the dynamic and ask to participate in solidarity initiatives that will be part of it. The press conference ended with a request for acquittal for the defendants.
