Following local initiatives on Thursday and Friday, the Bizitzak biziarazi initiative was held this Saturday in Vitoria-Gasteiz. At 12 noon an assembly was held to explain the details of the day and the activities that have been carried out in different localities.
After that, the assemblies have been initiated to publicize various struggles and the experiences of different actors have been shared. Together with them, workshops have also been held in Artium Square.
Throughout the day, young people have carried out various actions against businesses that promote precariousness. Telepizza, real estate, Foxter’s Hollywood, gambling halls and Stradivarius have been some of the marcas.Para that, have left the plaza several marches from which several people have mobilized, including the march of girls, against the precarious movement and gambling halls.
Finally, the members of ERNAI have made an act of protest and have participated in the event. Music has taken the place and dance has opened the way. As they painted their fist, in Euskal Herria they referred to the dynamics 'bizi', and they have praised the path that they have travelled from the beginning to today: “We have met and collaborated with a multitude of actors and collectives, we have taken the first steps towards a successful path and struggle. A clear example of this is the participants of the many projects and struggles that we have come closer to Vitoria-Gasteiz today. Thanks to this collaboration, we are stronger.”
“Because only by adding the forces of the young people who work in different areas will we get precariousness to become a major problem and the fight against it to be activated”.
Young people have made a positive and forward-looking reading, emphasising that the use of the network will be an essential tool: “We know that the networks and alliances of forces will strengthen us to move forward on this path. Today's is not just the end of a course, or the culmination of a dynamic. Today’s is one more step in the fight against precariousness, one more step in the construction of a people that puts lives at the centre.”
Living in the Basque Country
A year ago, the Bizi dynamic was launched in the Basque Country, with the dossier called “Coordinates for the Struggle of the Present”: “We conclude that precariousness defines the lives of young people, also in Euskal Herria. We say that it characterizes our lives, because it is a central element that runs through all areas of our lives.”
On the other hand, they have explained that precariousness is not a cyclical problem, but is an “important instrument for maintaining this wild capitalist system.” Moreover, they have clarified that the fight against precariousness must be collective: “Because only by adding the forces of the young people who work in different areas will we get precariousness to become a major problem and the fight against it to be activated”.
