In June 2024, the European Union held elections. It will involve only the western countries of the continent and not all. Britain, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and many of the East, including Russia, are not members of the EU. Some 60% of Europeans will be called to these elections.

Europe needs a new policy that brings together, among other things, the whole of Europe. This objective requires a change in the basis of the current EU, which cannot be achieved solely through elections. Changing the roots of the current EU requires profound movements, regardless of the citizens’ call to vote. But these elections allow us to reflect and here we want to explain some changes that should be made at the root.

Tight citizens

When we talk about the European Union, the first thing we have to remember is that it was launched by the economic elites of Western Europe, with the support of all the governments and without the least chance that the citizens could participate in its creation. The rich wanted to make the whole of Western Europe a single market to further increase their huge pockets of money. To manage the business as they wished, the sovereignty of the states was a problem for them and they imposed a project entitled “European Union” on us to overcome that obstacle. The fact that the project is built above the sovereignty of the States is something worth highlighting, as the European Union explains to us that the corporate interests of the multinationals are above the interests of the States. And surprisingly, the political representatives of the states lean towards the interests of these multinationals, apart from the citizens who voted. Consequences? That the old rich have now become narrower than the citizens who were richer and more distressed. The strong demonstrations by farmers and farmers in February bear witness to this.

Improving the quality of life of citizens

Those of us who want a fairer Europe will place the first focus on this point. Bold steps will have to be taken to stop the huge profits of multinationals and banks. Allocate higher percentages of these benefits to public services, publish some strategic sectors, especially energy, promote food production and consumption policies, guarantee decent pensions…, that is, start taking courageous measures to increase the quality of life of citizens. We citizens should ensure with mobilisations that politicians take that path.

Strategic autonomy

To be able to do all this, today we find a great wall, the relentless servitude with the United States. The EU has been badly damaged economically by the bias of US interests. Thousands of Europeans are also being killed in the Eastern pastures as a result of a war that should never have happened. We Europeans need a completely different policy, one that addresses our interests, far from the corporate interests of humble citizens, workers and multinationals. This requires, first of all, a determined commitment to strategic autonomy in which the institutions take precedence over the interests of Europeans and not of anyone. We Europeans do not need anyone to take us by hand. Let us not forget the gorillas that have exploded the gas pipes of Nord Stream. For European Europe.

Relations with the world

In order to achieve all of this, a new European Union will be needed that caters to the citizens and not to the rich. And also small nations like Euskal Herria, to make decisions as close as possible to home. As regards external relations, the new European Union will be open to negotiation and dialogue with all countries around the world. With the United States, yes, but also with Russia, China, India and all the countries of the world. As regards economic relations, the agreements shall be based on the consensus and mutual respect of the signatories. Without interference, without colonialist attitudes, prioritizing the economic benefits of all participants. Applying for a community entry called BRICS is an option.

Building Europe from the point of view of the people and the left

If we want to work on external relations with the whole world, it will be even more important for such relations to be conducted beforehand with all Europeans. From Lisbon to Moscow. The right to join the new EU will be recognised for all nations, nationalities, states and countries on the continent. It will also be important to define well the policy of alliances to be addressed. In these times when the far-right is being strengthened, the citizens lack the rapid political references of the left. So the tip of the right is recovering. In this area, we nationalists can work as motors, grouped with the left of stateless nations living in similar situations such as Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Galicia, Brittany, Corsica, Catalonia, Flanders… On the road to accelerating the ‘Europe of Peoples’ we dream of, we will encourage collaboration with the transformative movements existing in the different countries. The new Europe must be built from the point of view of the people and the left.

The disappearance of NATO

The second important change, also linked to strategic autonomy, is to turn our backs on a policy that leads us Europeans to kill us. We will be denouncing the statements of the politicians who are calling for a strengthening of the war in Ukraine and for more money to be wasted to buy arms. The countries of Eastern and Western Europe want to jointly address the challenges of the coming years. Turning our backs on NATO, which has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths, we will push the negotiating process forward so that the war in Ukraine can end as soon as possible. The disappearance of NATO is our strategic challenge. While the disappearance is taking place, we will demand that we leave NATO.

No to increased investment in Armata

Since February, many EU presidents have intensified the battles. We are told that after winning Ukraine, Russia has started to occupy other countries. They want us to believe that this risk is real, as if Russia’s desire was indeed that. The Russian President has made it clear that, once and for all, if Russia attacks only another country. The risk of an attack being enacted from the EU is suspect, as all States then add the need for increased funds to buy arms. Who wins with this measure? Citizens do not, because the amount allocated to this will be removed from social services. That is, we will have fewer health centers, fewer doctors, fewer teachers, fewer subsidies -- in exchange for those weapons that only serve to kill. In this way, the money for improving the lives of citizens will be reduced and the number of people making weapons to kill will be increased. Our bet is to invest more in diplomacy, to talk to all the agents, to try, to solve well. Sowing peace. There are therefore no more weapons. Reduce existing ones to facilitate peace.

Danger of nuclear war

Some presidents seemed to have the only intention of doing business by selling arms after the slogan that they are repeating to us so that we can prepare for war so many times. But it seems that in recent times they are looking forward to bringing the war to the highest level, to this end NATO troops have officially strengthened their call to enter Ukraine, as if all those who had already sent to perform skilled jobs, disguised as mercenaries, were few. From Russia, the intention to pass over Russia has been repeated over and over again, because they will first use nuclear weapons. If we get to this point, nobody will win, because the whole life of the planet will disappear. Are our politicians not aware of the risk they are generating? Is the level of the politicians we have so low, that no one stands up firmly to stop this crazy path that leads us up? All politicians here lack the courage of the Pope of Rome.

End of colonialism

We will have to have the same respect as we are asking for for Euskal Herria with all the countries of the world, rejecting all kinds of colonialism that still occur in Europe. We will offer comprehensive support to the Governments of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger recently sent by the French delegations from their lands and from behind. We will also continue to strengthen solidarity with Palestine and the Sahara.

Combating genocide

Being a slave of EE.UU. It has not only left us in the economic sphere, it has left us bound to genocide in the geopolitical sphere. To harm Russia they organised a war in Ukraine and forced us to participate inexorably in it to kill Russians as Europeans as we do. The Government of Ukraine is bombing Donbass every day, with the sole intention of killing civilians, and this genocide is silenced by our authorities. Israel launched a new genocide in Palestine and we have not been able to take countermeasures, such as breaking diplomatic and economic relations with Israel, because we have hooked ourselves on them. If we don't overcome the country's reliance on fentanyl, we go to disaster. Among the classes of citizens who have always been the social conflict par excellence (poor and poor), today is acquiring a new aspect and has adopted the conflict between countries (hegemonic - subordinate).

Restoring relations with Russia

We must try to restore relations with Russia, the largest country in Europe and in the world. Why consider Russia as an enemy? In 1945, the Soviet army besieged Berlin and so did Hitler and the II. It led to the end of the World War. Since then, Russia has been selling us cheap oil and gas, on which the economic boom of Western Europe has been based. Forgetting all the benefits it has brought to us in the last century, we have imposed serious economic sanctions, causing great economic damage to ourselves. Some strong companies have started to close and others have escaped from Europe. The lives of Europeans have become more expensive. Who can explain the convenience of this kind of tension? A sadomasochistic activity that does not stop damaging us. We should develop normalised relations with Russia, definitively rejecting the present penalties. For the benefit of the citizens.

Ukraine outside the European Union

With this latest war, NATO is seeking separation from Putin’s government. Then there would be the division of the Russian Federation and the establishment of friendly governments. The United States dreams of the times of Boris Yeltsin. In the meantime, to achieve them, energy sources have made us more expensive, Europeans have divided us, protect the genocide of Donbass ten years old…
