In Burlada, Navarra, two families are at risk of being evicted from their homes. The Socialist Housing Union of the County of Pamplona has explained that one family wants to be evicted by a vulture fund that has refused to renew the rental contract, while the other family is willing to be evicted because it wants to sell its housing.
Family eviction processes are underway and can undergo imminent eviction. In both cases, they are minors who are in an irregular situation. In the first case, a family with four children is in danger. They have been on rent for a year in Burlada, but now, without any alternative, they are about to lose their house.
In the case of the second family, the eviction order has been imposed on a mother who has five children. The woman, residing in Burlada since 2013, is not recognized as a tenant for legal and documentary reasons, so she will not be able to benefit from the protection of the moratorium against evictions. The situation is particularly serious, as the woman has been subjected to male violence for many years by her former husband, and currently lives with her five children.
Both the Socialist Council and the Socialist Housing Union have denounced that families have not received any alternative from public institutions. They have denounced that, at the expense of leaving their families "on the street", vulture funds and private owners give priority to the business. In view of this, they have called for attention to be paid to the forthcoming calls and to organize themselves.
