The first floor of the Montehermoso Cultural Center of Vitoria-Gasteiz hosts an art and life exhibition on the subject of housing. The doors were opened on 14 December and can be visited until 28 January. The project has been carried out jointly by members of the Haaly Pular association and several artists will offer various activities. Interested persons may turn from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00 in the morning and from 17:00 to 20:00 in the afternoon. On Sundays and holidays, however, they will be from 11:00 to 14:00 hours.
The initiative is organised by the Development Aid Service of the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz in collaboration with Montehermoso Kulturunea. They point out that they will reflect on the concepts of territory, residence, property and community: “The lack of decent housing is a problem that spreads throughout the world, especially for the most marginalized and discriminated social classes.” The organizers want to address this situation and will analyse, among other things, the roots of the clasile and colonial structures of the distribution of property and the conflicts that lead to the withdrawal and expulsion of land from peoples.
In collaboration with Haaly Pular, ARGIA collaborator and artist Shukare Otero, together with artist Amagoia Murua, will coordinate the exhibition. Other artists participated in the project: Sofia Velasco, Amaiur Macías, Petra Muguruza, Styles Osunde, Matixa Otero, Lola Arrayanne, Ritha Thende Mingomba, Mel Ondo, Garaion Sorgingunea and Soumaya Eddimokrati.
In addition to exposure, they will offer complementary activities. On 25 January at 18:30 a.m. a documentary will be screened in the Ortuño room, followed by a conference on the problem of drainage in the villages of Pular in Guinea.
