November 20 is the International Day for the Rights of Minors. For this reason, Sare recalled that the European Court of Human Rights "confirms that children who have incarcerated fathers and mothers have the same rights as the rest of their children". Since the enjoyment of the parent company is an essential element in family life, it is essential that the prison authorities provide prisoners with contact with their local family to ensure their right to respect for family life. "Furthermore, we cannot forget that the obligation of any State to minors is to protect their rights, using the necessary practical and effective means, taking into account the integral nature of human rights," stressed Sare.
SARE has denounced that the rights of children with backpacks are "repeatedly violated". "As a result of the removal, children who have their parents in prison are not guaranteed the right to have personal relationships and direct contacts with their parents, as they see their parents imprisoned once a month. In addition, the fact that the father, mother or both are in such a distant prison means that these children will have to make endless trips to be able to make a visit, which is a huge physical and psychological burden for them, as while their friends play on weekends they are on the road," Sare recalls.
In addition to this harsh reality is the situation created by the pandemic and the growing isolation of prisoners in prisons. "There are children who have not embraced their parents since March, others have had the opportunity to see the father or mother for some time, but right now all prisoners are suspended in the Spanish State; in the French State, on the other hand, in some prisons only one person can enter, so children cannot go alone; on other occasions more than one person can enter but they cannot remove the kiss and their children have to be a meter. You can hear your voice through a call, but you can't see it, touch it, play with it, or kiss it, with all the consequences that this can have on a child's development. The measures and policies that are leaving children with orphan backpacks, who are condemning them to live without their parents, are being implemented," Sare said.
Children with backpacks who live in jail do not have a more pleasant situation. "Izadi and Irati have been in Aranjuez's prison for nine months without being able to see their relatives or relatives in person. They have not been out on the streets for nine months, assuming a step backwards in the adaptation previously obtained. And what's the hardest thing, you haven't seen your dad since the summer, even though he's in the module next door," Sare said.
Sare has described this situation as "unacceptable" and has asked those with the power to change urgently to do something. "Without delay, prisoners must be close to their homeland. Prisons in the same province. That's what's urgent now," Sare said.

I've thought if Palestinian children also have this question in their head with our book. How many duels are missing to end the genocide? How many children should Israel kill with the complicity of the states of the world.
Are you going to ask these questions to your mothers? Or... [+]
