The trans law registered on March 17 at the Congress by ERC, More Country, Commitments, CUP, Junts per Catalunya and New Canary Islands, after the blockade of the PSOE to process it through the Council of Ministers, will reach the plenary of the Congress on Tuesday, May 18. It is expected to be the first item in the session, which will begin at 15:00.
According to El Salto, the Trans Platform Federation has been satisfied with the speed of this process, which means that “the equality of trans people is closer”, explains the organization’s president, Mar Cambrollé. “The PSOE has to decide whether to accept the procedure or whether the ultra joins the right.”
Cambrollé has insisted that it should be taken into account that it will be adopted the day after the day against LGTBphobia, making even more important the position that the political groups will have next Tuesday.
On Saturday, trans and allied organizations have called for concentrations in different cities across the country, demanding from the PSOE their loyalty to the program given by the coalition government. There will be concentrations in Madrid, Almería, Córdoba, Vigo, Baleares and Logroño “to ask for the support of all political forces to the Trans Law and on May 18 he will attend the plenary to vote for the admission to the procedure in the maximum representation of popular sovereignty, the Congress of Deputies”.
