They have asked through a video and initiative to change the name of the streets Urdaire, Areizaga, Endaia, Oa Almiranta and Antxiola from the street of Orio. The boat has climbed to the net:
Orio's neighbours have denounced that they are "five criminals turned into heroes of this kind." In 2019, the local media received the profile of these five people:
Juanes de Urdaire (1550-1606). Urdaire Street. Born in Orio, he was captain of whaling. He was the first to serve as captain of the naval arsenal. Admiral of the Army of Hard Land, war fleet and "trade" that united the Spanish Empire with the colonies of Peru.
Antonio de Areizaga (?-1720) Calle Aritzaga. He was an admiral of the King's Army. Captain of the warship San Pedro.
Tomas Endaya XVIII.mendea. Plaza Endaia. He was captain of war in the province of Bay, twice mayor of Manila and three generals of the South Sea Route (Philippines). In 1710 he was a teacher of the entire army, that is, he held the second most important post.
Gabriel de Zoe (16th-17th centuries). Calle Almirante Oa. He was Secretary of King Philip III at the Royal Council of the Indies.
Manuel Antonio de Antxiola XVIII.mendea. Antxiola kalea. Carlos III.aren was a minister for years.
Instead of those five names, they have made a proposal to put some more popular names. And for this they have placed on the plates of those streets the following names: Calle Inude (by Antxiola), calle Euskara (by Aritzaga), calle Kixkurne (Urdaire), calle Gaupasero (by Almirante Oa), and plaza de la Bruja (by Endaia).
The ethnographer and writer Antxon Agirre (1946-2014), Orio, gold, according to KarKara the author of the book, "are those who have distinguished themselves in the arms race, have also been high officials of the Spanish administration, and people of letters, scholarly priests and other professions of great relevance".
