He has achieved the fifth extension of the state of alarm with less support than ever in the last year. The parliamentary allies reproach him that he has not negotiated with Citizens and that he has agreed with the Government of Spain. Citizens, with a discreet comparison with pp and Vox, are in favor of austerity. However, he has made it clear to the Spanish Government that he is not the new partner, but is going to give the 'yes' to extend the state of alarm.
The President of the Spanish Government has stated that he will work together with the autonomous communities and that they will regain the capacity to decide on basic health care. In the extension of the state of emergency, it will be the Spanish Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, who will take over the presidency.
The Berria newspaper has taken up the statements by PNV and EH Bildu in which they have expressed their vote. Aitor Esteban of the PNV has stated that the Government has been adapting to the proposals of the PNV. It has also added that there is governance and that the way to reach agreements lies with the regional presidents. EH Bildu is concerned that the Spanish Government, once again, will need the support of Citizens. He has warned the Government that there are two ways forward in the legislature: the agreement by the left or the right majority: “We know that if you choose the first you can make the way, but if you choose the second you will lose the protection and you will have a short path,” said Mertxe Aizpurua.
Only the PSOE, UN Podemos, Citizens, PNV and other smaller forces have had the support of the Spanish Government and has become very weak in the future. This was reported by ERC, which also voted "no", to ensure that Sánchez "hasn't moved anything" for the Republican Catalans to abstain. Valencian Compromís has also moved from 'yes' to 'no'.
In general terms, the weakness of the government has now been noted, at least as regards the support of the Congreso.ERC has made it clear to you that you cannot go on like this and that you will have to decide whether or not you want to continue with Citizens or with the allies you have had so far. Sánchez has responded that the current support of Citizens does not change previous alliances, but the team of Inés Arrimadas has stressed that this support is only to extend the current alarm and that Sánchez does not think it is a general support.
The pp and Vox have today set fire in Congress to whoever is more godly against the Government of Sánchez, and everything indicates that the Spanish right will bring some of the fire to the street. It is not clear how far, but everything indicates that the street environment will also get warm.
