The Spanish State and the Basque Country are more different than ever
- In view of yesterday’s results, a comparison could be made with the first elections to the Spanish Courts that took place. The result is not the same, but it has a similar tone when compared to the 1977 elections: the presence of many parties, fragmentation, the presence of nations in congress, etc.
The results of the elections held 42 years ago also indicated that the route made during the Franco regime could not be repeated throughout the State. The results prove this: The PA, led by former Francoist minister Manuel Fraga, went out with 16 members of the polls, while the National Alliance did not obtain any deputy in those elections, nor did the Authentic Spanish Phalanx. So that ultra-right vote was about 9 percent, the same as the previous one. 42 years later, the VOX has won 15% of the votes for the Cup. What is the logic of that? Well, in my opinion, I would not say that there are more Francoists in the state. I do not believe that the analysis of these results should go that way. Perhaps, for example, bullfighting bans have more to do with the rise of VOX than Franco himself.
The fact is that in 1978 a Constitution of Values was drafted in the State (like the other European Constitutions), and not just a Constitution of Articles. The important thing was to understand and, above all, to respect ourselves. Because articles, by themselves, are never important. For example, in Britain they do not have a written constitution. Instead, they have democratic values.
The result of yesterday, alone, is the failure of a state that has crumbled to date. The lack of value of a State and the drift of a State. When a State assumes that democratically elected rulers are imprisoned for ballot boxes, it is already condemned.

And in all areas of life, but above all in politics, without morality and without courage, there is nothing. That is what is happening in Spain. That there is no policy, no policy, no solution to the bull or to the “Spanish culture”, or at all. And hence the consequences.
Another consequence of these elections is that, year after year, the Spanish State and the Basque Country are more different than ever. Therefore, following the values of democracy as soon as possible, let us take our path. Because it's too 42 years to be in a state where there are no democratic values.
