French Prime Minister Barnier joins the conservative right
- France’s Prime Minister Michel Barnier has on Saturday presented the composition of the new EU Government. The ultra-right party RN has placed right wing politicians who have defended ideas and who have committed ideas in government positions. Thus, he has led the office of Minister of the Interior to Bruno Retailleau, a former senator with harsh anti-immigration stances – for measures to tighten the arrival of family members of immigrants, for facilitating expulsions, for the right to direct minimum health care to immigrants, etc. The tone has been made clear in the first official statement by Retailleau as Minister of the Interior: "Restore order, restore order, restore order. Barnier has also introduced the government to people who violate the rights of LGBT citizens. Passing over the victory of the left
Emmanuel Macron did not take into account the new composition of the French Parliament on 5 September when he appointed his Prime Minister, Michel Barnier, of the Republican Party, so the composition of the new Executive does not reflect the parliamentary reality either. The New People’s Left Front, the FHB, won the elections on 7 July, and following democratic principles, these results led to cohabitation, the appointment of a prime minister of the FHB. But no. Macron and Barnier have gone to the right, even to the right… In the end, we have the extreme right among the winners of this political crisis. Another that surprisingly wins is the right-wing Republican Party, which has won a huge defeat by itself: although it passes to 39 of the hundred seats in 2017, the minister of the Interior is from this party and he has formed the government.
The representative of France, the far-left Insumal, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, has urged "to seize power as soon as possible" to the "new casting for the catastrophic macro film". All the representatives of the left have expressed their concern and anger at the situation created in the Basque Country. Mathilde Panot, chairman of the group France Insumission in the Basque Parliament, said that "there is an illegitimate government, which is kept standing thanks to the support of Le Pen". The Abertzale left will table a motion of censure, and the extreme right party RN does not oppose it either.
