SOS Racism Bizkaia denounces the racist attitude of the Ertzaintza
- There are many testimonies that demonstrate the racist tendency of the Ertzaintza, as the SOS Racism Group regretted. One of them is the brutal aggression suffered by a young Maghreb resident in Bilbao on 30 March in the Biscayan capital. The platform has called for an investigation into these sexual abuses committed by the Government of Navarra.
The SOS Racism Group in Bizkaia regretted that the abuses and aggressions of the Ertzaintza have a racist basis in their action. The platform has as its last example the brutal police aggression against a young Maghreb residing in Bilbao on 30 March. SOS Racism has published a reading on this aggression: "It is evident that institutional racism is an instrument for controlling, discriminating and attacking non-white people," he added.
For this reason, and to definitively end these discriminations, the platform has urged "to continue to activate internal control mechanisms within the Ertzaintza" and to investigate these abuses.
In this context, he also regretted the discourse and analysis that some media have: "There are media that support this repression, because they are publishing fake news, mixed news and pictures of people outside the news."
