An ertzaina is arrested in connection with drug trafficking, not the first case
- An ertzaina is arrested on Thursday for alleged drug trafficker. At home, they've detected 54 kilos of cocaine. It is not the first time that members of the police of the Basque Country have been hit by drug trafficking.

In 1998, another Ertzaina was arrested at the head of an international drug trafficking gang. 21 kilos of cocaine, 12,900 ecstasy pills and 700 doses of LSD were detected.
In the mid-1990s, several Ertzainas were prosecuted at the Vitoria Court, accusing drug traffickers of committing crimes. And in the early '90s, in the Guardia Civil Noah's Ark Operation, two Ertzainas joined a drug trafficking network.
In 1988, three Ertzaines were arrested for belonging to a group of drug traffickers and three kilograms of cocaine were captured.
