According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, 1,026 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered in Mariupol
- The Russian Ministry of Defence has stressed that among the 1,026 military personnel who have surrendered there are 162 officers deployed on the island.
The Russian Army and the militias of the Donetsk People's Republic have almost completely taken over the city of Mariupol and, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defence, in 36. A total of 1,026 soldiers have been delivered from the Marine Brigade, of whom, according to the Ministry, 162 are officers and 47 are women.
In addition, the ministry has indicated that 151 Ukrainian soldiers received medical treatment on site and were transferred to a hospital, where they were treated by militiamen.
According to Alexander Sladkov, journalist of Rossiya-24, of the soldiers who surrendered 300 were injured, while 90 could not march by their own means. "There may be over 800 healthy soldiers. If everything remains the same, the defense mechanisms of the Ukrainian armed forces at the Iliich steel factory will collapse," says the journalist. The journalist says the soldiers of the Azov Batalion continue at the Azovstal factory.
