The war in Ukraine and, in particular, the alleged massacre in Butxa, yesterday centralised the UN Security Council meeting. The Ukrainian and Russian representatives argued in favour and against, and proposed that the representatives of the United States expel Russia from the UN Human Rights Council.
"Russia cannot have a position of authority in this body and we should not let its position on this council be used as a propaganda tool," said the UN representative in the United States yesterday, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
After this proposal, according to the AFP information agency, it will be voted at the UN tomorrow if Russia leaves the Human Rights Council; the vote will take place at the UN general assembly.
