This year’s Errigora campaign has ended and those responsible are satisfied: they will distribute more baskets than ever before: Total 14,300. There has been an increase in applications and, therefore, in the contribution: EUR 200,000 will be allocated to initiatives promoting the use of Euskera in the south of Navarre. Iker Ajuriagerra, a member of Errigora, gave the details in an interview he conducted at the broadcaster Naiz Irratia.
This year three baskets have been offered, one of them classic, eco-friendly and with Christmas products: “The one that has had the most demand has been the classic, the one that is most known, and the one that has a little bit of everything: Over 7,000 baskets have been black. The ecological demand has also been very good, to be the first time, about 4,000. The Christmas basket has had other kinds of applicants and 2,000 have been ordered.’
With this campaign, EUR 200,000 will be allocated to projects that promote Euskera in the south of Navarra, as explained by Ajuriagerra: ‘As we have received more requests, the contribution has also increased. In addition, since some baskets were worth a little more and 25% of the basket is what is meant as an economic contribution, with the same number of baskets, more money will be allocated. EUR 200,000 in total. One part will be for AEK, another for three ikastolas of the Federation of Ikastolas, another for the centres of model D, and, as we said at the beginning of the campaign, it will also be part of the financial contribution for the association we have created for the Basque people of southern Navarre, the association that is called Ageraldia’.
Ajuriagerra has recognised that, like the agents who are going to receive the money, the producers are also very happy. Today they will start distributing the baskets: « Errigora is an exercise of auzolan. In order to carry out the distribution, we also have the help of volunteers. From 8 a.m. onwards, producers are making baskets. This Friday we began to distribute and distribute to the peoples. In Bizkaia we will end on 14 December’.
