Errigora ran its first campaign in autumn 2013. Under the motto “Nafar euskarari puzka”, they distributed nearly 9,000 boxes of products from the south of Navarre throughout the Basque Country and destined 112,000€ to boost Basque culture in the area.
Clearing up all doubts, the proposal was very welcome. In the first year of the campaign, they were carried out in about 30 localities, and 30,000 litres of oil and 50,000 preserves arrived in over 1,500 kitchens. Campaign growth over the next four years has been spectacular: Over 240,000 liters of oil and 700,000 cans of canned have been distributed in 5 years, and in the 2018 season the demand was 6,500 households.
The campaign’s approach has remained basically in the 5 years. However, the supply has expanded considerably and, together with consumers, the number of participating producers has increased considerably. In addition, in 2017 the campaign underwent two changes to highlight: they went from ordering the oil and keeping it in two shifts to asking everything at once (although the distribution and payment were kept in two rounds) and took the step of offering all the products also in organic.
As for the new campaign, applications can be made between 7 and 22 March, both on the website errigora.eus and in the brochures distributed. These distributions are already carried out at 70 points in the Basque Country.
