Collection by independent control of the incinerator's infections
- The Anti-Incinerator Movement has launched a levy to finance independent pollution control to be extended by the Zubieta incinerator, if they turn it on. From here we want to encourage the public to support and promote this initiative.
The objective of this scientific research is to carry out annually tests of contamination and, to this end, a few days ago the Dutch Foundation ToxiWatch and a company accredited by the Basque Government took samples in various localities of the incinerator environment – Zubieta, Usurbil, Lasarte-Oria, Andoain, Añorga, Hernani and Urnieta – and in a more distant one, Zaldiri. At these points, samples have been taken of eggs, mosses, land and plants of the chickens. It is very important to know the situation at these points before the Zubieta fireplace begins to burn the trash, to re-repeat in successive years the same tests and demonstrate with scientific guarantees how things are going.
The transfer of international researchers to the Basque Country, taking samples and carrying out analytical studies in their countries has an economic cost. That is why the groups and citizens who form the Anti-Incineration Movement have decided to support research and collaborate in obtaining funding.
We are making progress in the EUR 13,000 campaign and we call on the public to participate as much as possible. The money can be donated either through the crowdfunding platform Verkami or through the bank account ES45 2095 5069 06 1064132086 (Zubieta Lantzen) or through the provision of an EAM member.
Don't despair, countrymen: contends. No to incineration, neither in Zubieta nor anywhere!
