Those of us who oppose the incinerator also have the right to be heard in the EITB
- We Guipuzcoans are worried about the incinerator of Zubieta and many. That is why, members of the Anti-Incinerator Movement, we are repeatedly calling for a talk show between experts on the subject, both on television and on the radio. On the contrary, we see that in them only those who support the incinerator have space, that is, Asensio and Olano.
They always indicate that it will be amazing, how many jobs it will create...
They only explain what is best for them and hide important information. As a matter of fact...
- Where will all the garbage that both ovens will need come from? If each kiln needs 100,000 tons to be viable and in Gipuzkoa, the maximum
If 150,000 tons are produced, where will the remaining 50,000 tons come from?
- Why have they hired a company that is under investigation for corruption to build the incinerator?
- Why won't this company control 12 highly dangerous substances that will be released into the atmosphere?
There are many worries we have. The movement began to receive signatures to demand a debate. We have received more than 10,000 signatures and with them we have gone to the EITB to request a debate.
The answers of Edu Barinaga, its director, have been that the signatures do not indicate anything to him, that it was enough with an e-mail, that they have to see if he can have enough audience of a debate of this type... and that, in addition, this cannot be decided by him.
Barinaga you collect from public money and we are part of it. Don’t ignore the issue, even those of us who oppose the incinerator have the right to be heard in the EITB. Is it public TV or not?
