On October 14, Bertsolari Maddalen Arzallus offered musical verses to Ion Parot in the Faktoria program of the Basque Country Irratia. After 32 years in jail, he was released on parole on Friday. Well, there has been controversy on social media because some users have accused him of “extorting terrorism”, according to the newspaper Berria, and EITB has removed the verses.
Unai Urruzuno, EH Bildu parliamentarian, has confirmed via Twitter the decision of the public media: “Yes. Maddalen Arzallus is censored. At the moment we can say that it was commissioned by an EitbNet manager. EH Bildu is going to ask for clarification of everything. Specifically at the Management Board of 25 October.”
In addition, this social network has “temporarily limited” Faktoria’s Twitter account. Other users have described EITB as contrary to freedom of expression, both by Twitter and by the public.
