A woman dances this year in Lekeitio
- For the first time on St. Peter's Day (June 29) a woman will dance on the Lekeitio box. It's Ane Maruri, a member of the Etorkizuna dance group. Asier Uskola has danced since 2003 but has a broken leg. From now on, the local dance group intends to change each year to the dancer.
For over 40 years, those who have danced Lekeitio's Kaxarranka on St. Peter's Day have been: Since 2003 Asier Uskola and 34 years earlier Pedro Murelaga. Uskola has broken leg and Ane Maruri is ready for this special dance. In fact, he danced at the Bizkaiko Dantzari Eguna. The Lekeitio Etorkizuna group of dances now intends to modify the Dantzari kaxarranka every year.
