Bernat Lavaquiol and Alidé Sans, members of the platform, have denounced that urban speculation related to winter tourism and specifically to skiing, makes it increasingly difficult to access housing for its inhabitants and workers, especially in the regions of Aran, Cerdanya and Pallars Sobirà.

Because each of the housing units that are being built in Baqueira Beret costs 2 million euros, Lavaquiol points out that the scarce urbanizable plots in these areas, which have sometimes had to be recalified, are being used for the construction of "second and third luxury homes", and that this speculation linked to the soil increases the value of the housing for those who want to stabilize in them: "The owners of Baqueira can destroy nature and everyone settles down, it's omertta of the Pyrenees."

He explains that 54% of the dwellings in the Aran Valley are secondary or tertiary dwellings and that the average stay is 18 days a year.

For its part, the Stop JJOO platform has denounced that public subsidies received by private ski resorts break with urban projects such as that of Baqueira Beret. Alidé Sanse, a member of the collective, has pointed out several examples, including that of the municipality of Baus, an urbanization capable of receiving three times the number of people living in it.
