Three years ago the users of the Casa Mayor were proposed to move to the new Cultural Center, but since the new space does not adapt to their needs, they have been fighting for the maintenance of the Casa Mayor ever since.

The previous day, the City Council of Getxo was informed through the newspaper El Correo that this Friday it was planned to take out all the services of the Casa Mayor, and the elderly have decided to carry out the closure that began on Wednesday. There have been meetings on Thursday afternoon and Friday at noon in favor of the maintenance of the Casa Mayor and the activities that take place there.

It is reported that solidarity gatherings will be held daily in front of the Casa Mayor at 19:00.
