Every fifteen days they offer a maximum of 45 minutes for surveillance, which is an inescapable appointment for all staff. Depending on the needs, they have chosen a surveillance space: they have gone to the street, or in the place where they all gather in the office, sometimes on-line... "The truth is, 45 minutes is short. Surveillance work first requires landing in the matter. Therefore, it is not much time, but there is something" that prefer to value this interval with optimism, knowing that in times of daily work, taking these 45 minutes requires an exercise of consciousness: "It's not an ideal method, but we have a space for it, and we give it the importance it has," he added.
They have a surveillance officer and, after a season, this function is assumed by another worker. The function of the person responsible is to direct the session: to have an external look, to share the word...
To say things looking in the eyes is the essence of the care space. Put on the table the knots that have been created for each worker on a day-to-day basis and try to release them together. This symbolic action of going to the table has so far been physically supported by a real table, so that it is clear to the workers that it is not a personal issue that comes to light. Now, on the other hand, we are working on the path of trust and for that we have thought of abandoning the table, putting it round to strengthen the team spirit.
In this formal space, talking about the emotional and cracking that emerged in teamwork avoids gossip. Each worker is helped a lot by the view of others, as each one experiences the same situation in a different way, and through care they get a better understanding.
Two areas work in care: one is the incidences arising in the development of the projects. If teamwork hasn't worked, or if something has happened that someone didn't like -- they work all of that, what's happened and how everyone has felt.
The other area is emotional. For people not every day are the same, let alone in a pandemic... TaPunto has pointed out that: "We understand that those of us who come to work are people and that we all have our lives. The function of care would be to understand the situation of this worker's life when starting their work. But we talk from a work perspective about how the domestic situation at work affects."
-I didn't like this... "I haven't felt good", phrases are common in the care space, always starting from oneself, to give the word to small or old things. They also perform evaluations that value positively: "You've helped me a lot in this," "I've felt overwhelmed," "I'm really glad to see you strong..."
They have worked with the Haratago advisory and based on the conclusions they have drawn, the surveillance space has its own roadmap or direction. But at the same time, they have explained that they maintain improvisation and flexibility: "For example, if something has happened two days before the meeting, it gives time to work on this issue for a long time. Without losing the north, but the surveillance space must be flexible to respond to the needs of the moment."
The TaPunto cooperative, founded in 2015 by three partners, was established in 2015. In addition to placing the company within the framework of the Social and Transformative Economy, it was clear that in the daily routine it was necessary to incorporate surveillance and provide it with its own space. At present, seven people work in the centre and maintain this initial base: "We also take care of ourselves on a day-to-day basis, we're learning about it, we don't wait for surveillance into space sometimes to get small incidences to the table that are happening along the way."
