He is an oenologist of Irubetagoyena and began his career in the wine world, first in the French state and then in Chile, where he was present. But when he returned from there, he left the basements and began to propose training sessions for professionals. He also carried out animations for private individuals, and gradually in schools he also started performing activities related to tastings. Then he met his current partner. “He had already started working on his own in the delivery of food awareness workshops in schools, and so we got to know each other and gradually created the partnership.”
The aim of the partnership is to raise awareness among the general public about food and cultivation, and in addition to the initiatives they undertake in schools and with children, they also offer more services in other areas: workshops with associations, training with producers, advice to raise awareness of farms or the provision of games, workshops or festival animations. “We understand food as a whole: we relate to ingredients, to the environment, to cultural heritage, to the consumer sector, to the stimulus of the senses…”. It is a question of bringing together all the actors working on food and promoting the local social and solidarity economy.
They have also created games and created a “Play-pedagogic Suitcase”. Through this suitcase, raised as a game, they work with children and young people other areas in direct contact with food: the environment, consumption, cultural heritage and health.
This year they have also launched a new activity for families called Lur’istorioak. On a farm people meet and do different workshops: one to learn how to produce the product with the producer, another to learn how to taste the products with the members of the Sarde Sardexka association and the last to work the biological culture through the game with the Earth Association of Tomorrow. Although this initiative has been suspended for the time being due to the coronavirus crisis, it is expected that it will be relaunched in the summer.
