Last March, the City Hall of Donostia-San Sebastián signed a new urban plan agreement with the company Sociedad Vascongada de Ediciones, S.A., which provides for the construction of 250 homes on the Igara plot. Of these, 100 will be public housing – 40% of the total –. “This action allows to increase the residential offer of protected housing and to expand and improve public supplies. It is an integrated urban development in the rest of the neighborhood of Ibaeta that gives continuity to the residential environment with quality public spaces that complement those existing in this area,” explained Mayor Eneko Goia.
The urbanization project, called Izadi Enea, will be carried out by the construction company Amenabar, which will execute the works. The agreement signed between the City Council and the company proposes an urban buildability of 21,600 square meters. Of these, 21,000 square meters will be for residential use (12,600 for free promotion housing, 4,200 for social protection housing and 4,200 for rated housing) and 600 square meters for commercial use.
A large square will be created in the centre, with green areas open to the south, distributing homes to the north and west, occupying the north-west corner with a tower. The lower floors north and the tower will be destined for local and commercial equipment and the rest of the space will be for free space.
Until 28 April 2022, the newspaper will be able to make use of its current headquarters.
*ARGIA update
Eh Bildu Donostia has denounced that "the housing problem is tremendous" so as not to admit projects that have less than 50% of official housing. And because this project doesn't meet this condition, that's why they're "such big numbers."
The urban recalification of Igara, agreed between the DV and the Municipal Government, has a quantity: DV will take 18.5 million. In order to reach this high number of homes, they have been limited only to meeting the minimum legal conditions of public housing. https://t.co/5YglrmOw3y
