On 17 March, on the occasion of the state of alarm, Zierbena Sarea and ongi Etorri Errefuxiatuak (OEE) were prepared to receive the 22 migrants in the port of Zierbena, as they have to be safeguarded. They were given shelter on the fronton of Zierbena and a bus was mounted to move migrants to the area. It was the Red Cross that carried out the movement and preparation of the pediment.
The OEE has denied what was published by El Correo, since the platforms that participated in the transfer were aware of it. They have demanded that the newspaper and the journalist contrast the information with the Ertzaintza and correct the error. They wanted to make it clear that "they will not tolerate the criminalisation of migrants in our ports and neighborhoods".
Ongi Etorri Errefuxiatuak has noted that since the next day there is no ertzaina that takes care of migrants. They have called the media to account for the fact that containment is more harmful to the most vulnerable sectors of society than to others.
