As of June 1, you can request leave in Hego Euskal Herria due to the discomfort of the month, abortion and pregnancy. These measures have been taken by the reform of the Abortion Law approved in February by the Congress of Spanish Deputies.

It is the first State in the European Union to declare a reduction in menstrual pain. Women with monthly periods caused by endometriosis, myomas or polystic ovaries may be discharged and no prior contribution is required. The measurement does not involve a time determination, it will depend on the doctor.

Social security will pay 100% from day one. Until now, patients' permission could be requested for these reasons, but it was charged from the fourth day (always according to employment agreement). If a worker is dismissed for such leave, the company shall be obliged to suspend dismissal.

Abortion and pregnancy casualties

In the case of pregnancy, leave may be requested from week 39 without affecting sixteen weeks of maternity leave. The total number of weeks by pregnancy was sixteen, including the days before delivery. In such cases, prior contributions shall be required for workers over 21 years of age.

Aborted women will not be required to pay prior contributions. This will include the voluntary or involuntary interruption of pregnancy in the public health system. It is about healing with the physical and psychological consequences of abortion. In both cases the company will pay the first day of leave and the rest of the Social Security.
