With the support of PSOE, PNV, Unidas Podemos y Citizens and the abstention of EH Bildu, the sixth extension of the state of alarm was approved in Congress on Wednesday. Thus, the state of emergency will remain in force in Hego Euskal Herria until at least June 21.
In principle, Navarre, Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa joined the third phase of the Copa del Rey this Monday. Once at this stage, the Autonomous Communities will have regulatory competence. Only movements from one community to another cannot be regulated by the Autonomous Communities.
Once the emergency period has elapsed, the Basque Government and the Government of Navarre will decide when it will move to what has been called “new normality”.
The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced that next Tuesday, 9 June, the Government will adopt a series of measures to be taken when the state of emergency is withdrawn.
