They have carried out mass demonstrations in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Amurrio and Salvatierra to denounce the “cruelty” against Barbado and Zelaia. Both young people can receive the arrest warrant at any time. In view of this, since ANkerkeria Stop, a solidarity initiative involving two young people, has been ratified in the mobilizations its intention to continue weaving “solidarity networks”. The two representatives of the initiative took the floor in Gasteiz. They denounce that the Ertzaintza reports are the basis for prosecuting and condemning the two young people, who have been tried in the Madrid emergency courts, and that since the ruling of the National Court, Barbado and Zelaia cannot make a normal life. “We are in the year 2023,” they stress, to highlight that the harassment of two young people is out of place and out of time.

The Supreme can notify the resolution at any time and one of the options is to convict the two youths in prison. Stop calls to “be alert and respond” to this danger.

In order to organize the answer, in Vitoria-Gasteiz they organized an open assembly on 2 May in the SUmendi Space of the Judimendi district.

In February 2021, the National High Court sentenced Barbado and Zelaia to four years of imprisonment and disqualification for "storing items to make explosives for terrorist purposes". Both the defenses and the prosecution appealed: the Prosecutor’s Office was ratified in the eight-year criminal petition; the youth’ defenses demanded acquittal.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court has filed appeals and may decide to increase, maintain and acquitt the penalty imposed by the National Court.
