Eh Bildu de Azkoitia reported in a statement that in order to carry out the waste area to be built in Azkarate it is necessary to "amend" the subsidiary rules of Azkoitia. Eh Bildu has explained that in recent days he has been collecting "as much information as possible", and has given the latest explanations after analyzing the issue. For its part, the sovereign coalition has stressed that the Azkarate lands are currently "not urbanizable" and that in order to carry out these modifications it is necessary that the municipal plenary approve them.
In this regard, the coalition has not "approved" the statements made by the Mayor of Azkoitia, Javier Zubizarreta, in recent days. "The mayor says he can do nothing but grant the license, and that's not the case. They may choose not to modify the NN.SS, so it is possible to paralyse the project," he stressed. Eh Bildu has called for the people to be told "the truth" and for them to be "seated" in the waste area, "not altering" the subsidiary rules necessary for this.
EH Bildu has also stated that it has "the suspicion that unauthorised works are being carried out" in the areas affected by the area. "The information gathered and analyzed supports this," he said. Meanwhile, EH Bildu has called for the "immediate cessation" of vehicle repair works in the Basque Country. The coalition has reported, for its part, that it has registered an official request to the mayor of Azkoitia so that "immediately" he can carry out an inspection of the works and "stop" if there are unauthorized works. For its part, EH Bildu has called for "corrective measures" to be taken against its responsibility in the Basque Parliament. "It would be very serious to start without authorization the works of such an installation; it is the responsibility of the City Hall to maintain it and its possible overlap," said EH Bildu.
The City Hall of Donostia-San Sebastián announced at last Thursday’s plenary session that it will increase the waste rate by 26.5% from January 2025, claiming that Waste Law 7/2022 obliges this. Eguzki, for its part, has denounced that the law only applies in terms of costs,... [+]
