Not all are equal
This is historic. The story will show up in the books. Reality outweighs fiction. We no longer know what is hiding from the flood of data that we are collecting. Infected, hospitalized, dead. Beyond those graphs full of exponential curves, what will they count in the future?
The world. “China Virus” vs. “U.S. military propagated the virus in Wuhan.” Huawei, 5G, trade war. The embargo on Iran, the events in the Gulf of Oman, the murder of Ali Jamenei. Oil Price Drop, USA-Saudi Arabia vs. Syria War.
European Union. Less tangible Stability Pact. The Coronabuks, crackdown. Brexit, the first, what's next? Unity, yes, to close borders to migrants.
The Spanish state. They say that the virus has no territory, but that they will use it to strengthen Spanish unity and save the monarchy, to finally put the great PSOE-PP coalition in power.
Econia.El virus has no ideology, but they do save banks to the detriment of people. Privatisations and cuts are covered by the dedication of the workers and the applause of the balconies. “Yes, at one point they seemed to be rejecting neoliberal measures, but as public debt had to be paid...”
Work. Shock. Fear. The risk, on the pretext of not putting the economy in a coma. Nursing homes, home help, cleaners, hospitality, telemarketing, household employees… ERTE. Unemployment. Precariousness, be autonomous/entrepreneur, new business culture, outsourcing. Free care work of invisible women.
Democracy. Authoritarianism is here. State of alarm. Military in the street, neighbors in police work. Inside the house, one week, two weeks, one month. Alone. Clandestine time to work for the collective.
Digitalization. They say auzolan, but they close the small shops and they win Amazon, Glovo, Apple -- telework, applications, data -- spied. Big Brother. Google owns education and healthcare.
War. “This is a war, a war against the coronavirus.” Third World War. Meanwhile, with all of us at home, 30,000 American soldiers have come to Europe. What? April
How can we organize collectively and put life at the center?
Conduct the NATO Europe Defender 20 military exercise. When Europe is confined, US soldiers can move peacefully on the street because they “are healthy”.
Time of uncertainty. Concerns, questions. It's time to open the spotlight, to put the long lights on. The finger doesn't cover the moon, the tree doesn't cover the forest. History is not written, we do it. How can we, in the current situation, organize ourselves collectively and put life at the centre of the next aggression?
Look after hope and never miss it.
