Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, presided this Tuesday at the meeting of the Advisory Council that accompanies him as the sole director of the Euskadi Civil Protection Plan (LABI). There, they have decided on the measures to be implemented in the next Christmas to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the press conference following the meeting, Health Advisor Gotzone Sagardui announced changes to the measures in force since 12 December:
Mobility
The perimeter confinement of the CAV will be suspended from 23 to 26 December and from 30 December to 1 January, when mobility between autonomous communities and provinces will be allowed.
Curfew from 22:00 to 6:00 hours.
Exceptionally, the curfew will be at 00:30 hours on nights from 24 to 25 December and from 31 December to 1 January.
Social encounters
Possibility of meeting in groups of up to 6 people.
Exceptionally, a maximum of 10 persons may meet on 24 and 25 December, i.e. only at Christmas and Christmas.
Hospitality and commerce
Bars, restaurants and shops must be closed at 18:00 on 24, 25, 31 December and 1, 5 and 6 January, except pharmacies, service stations and gas stations.
On 25 December and 1 and 5 January it may not be opened before 9:00.
On 31st December and 1st, 5th and 6th January, it is forbidden to celebrate New Year's Eve in all types of establishments; from 20:00 hours only those housed and registered in the establishment can be offered dinner.
Customers who have not stayed before 28 December may not be admitted to campsites from 30 December to 2 January.
Vaccine from 27 December
In addition, Health Advisor Gotzone Sagardui confirmed that the Basque Country will receive the first doses of the vaccine created by the companies Pfizer and BioNTech on December 27. That same day the vaccination campaign will begin.
